Roberts Vitols to make FC2 race debut with Team Färén at RallyX Americas in Canada

Latvian rallycross driver Roberts Vitols and Team Färén will take their successful partnership across the Atlantic, stepping up to the FC2 Supercar class for the RallyX Americas round at the at the legendary Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières in Canada on August 22-23.

The event, which will host the last round of the inaugural RallyX Americas season, will mark Vitols’ first competitive start with the 550-horsepower FC2 and his first race in North America.

The Canadian start follows Vitols’s successful 2026 European RallyX campaign in Supercar Lites. Across ten starts, he secured seven victories, won the RallyX South title and achieved the season’s primary objective – earning a fully funded FC2 start at the RallyX Global Final in Montalegre, Portugal, on October 24-25.

Vitols’ career has been built through the family-run Provento Racing Team that has supported his progression from karting and national competition to international rallycross. Together, they have won British, Northern European and Latvian titles in Super 1600 competition and later achieved multiple victories in the British Rallycross Championship Supercar category. Vitols has also made wildcard appearances in the FIA RX2e Championship, showing speed against some of the leading drivers in international rallycross.

After a period away from rallycross, Vitols returned in 2025 with a programme run by Provento Racing Team in cooperation with Team Färén. He won three races in his debut Supercar Lites season and finished third overall.

Trois-Rivières will give Vitols his first opportunity to gain competitive experience with the FC2 and measure himself against drivers who already know the car before returning to the class for his prize drive in Portugal.

The possibility to compete with the FC2 already in Canada is a great opportunity and will give me valuable first experience in FC2 machinery.”

Honestly, the car felt more natural to me than the Supercar Lites because I had previously competed in Supercar machinery. Trois-Rivières will still be a completely new circuit for me and my first race with the FC2. I want to learn and progress as much as possible, and the result should follow. If I know that I have done my best and made the most of every run and every opportunity on track, I will be satisfied. And I know that I have a great team behind, who will help me do it.”

Team Färén, led by experienced rallycross figure Eric Färén, has an extensive history of developing drivers and competing internationally. The Swedish squad has previously fielded drivers in Nitrocross and the RX2 International Series and has worked with emerging rallycross drivers across Europe and North America.

The RallyX Americas weekend at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières will take place on August 22–23. Following the Canadian event, Vitols is scheduled to return to FC2 competition for the RallyX Global Final in Montalegre on October 24-25.
