Roberts Vitols Dominates Again to Take Second Consecutive RallyX Riga Win in Supercar Lites

May 10, 2025

After a commanding performance on Friday, Roberts Vitols continued his winning streak on Saturday, claiming a second consecutive victory in the Supercar Lites class during the second day of the RallyX Riga round.

Racing on home soil at the Biķernieki track, Vitols was once again in a league of his own, winning 11 out of 13 races over the course of the two-day event. On Saturday, he clocked the fastest lap times in both Q2 and Q3, and went on to control the final from start to finish, crossing the line almost two seconds ahead of Swedish driver Lukas Andersson. Danish racer Kevin Daarbak completed the podium in third place.

Vitols delivered a clean and consistent performance, controlling the pace and avoiding any mistakes throughout the day. With maximum points collected on both days, he now stands as a serious contender for the overall RallyX title.

“The plan was to win every race this weekend or atleast every race in one of both days – I managed to take 11 out of 13, which is still very solid. The performance was strong, everything went as planned. I think I had the fastest lap in every run. Driving at home, just a few minutes from where I live, hearing the fans in the grandstands – it’s something special.

As a team we did really great job. Tire strategy, race approach and technical preperation, everything went without troubles and according to plan. Big thanks to my family and Team Faren for great work and emotions this weekend.

Sure, there’s always a bit of pressure when racing at home – you want to deliver a result. But when the lights go green, everything else disappears. It’s just racing.

Thank you to everyone who came out, cheered, and supported – I could really feel it! Now it’s time to head to Finland and keep this momentum going.”
